How to Get Others to Buy a Product

Imagine this…

You create your product. You put up your sales page and order button. Then you unleash your advertising skills to get your offer in front of as many people as possible.

And then…

Man, Laptop, Work, Digital Nomad, Nomad

Nothing. No sales. Well, maybe a tiny trickle. But not the flood of PayPal or Clickbank notifications that we you were expecting.

Avoid this nightmare by following these seven tips for getting others to buy your products…

  1. Get the Offer in Front of Targeted Audiences

First things first: Get your offer in front of targeted prospects.

Example: If you’re selling a dog training book, don’t email your marketing list and expect to make sales. Instead, get your offer in front of people who are likely to buy (e.g., people who need to train their dogs).

2. Craft a Compelling Sales Letter

Next, you need to create a sales page that persuades your prospects to buy your product. This means your sales letter ought to have an attention-getting headline, an opener that hooks the prospect and engages her emotions, a bulleted list of benefits, proof that your claims are true and a call to action.

3. Give a Bonus

You want to give your prospects a good deal, so that as they read the sales letter they’re thinking, “wow, I can’t believe I get all this for just 50 bucks.” Then you really thrill them by throwing in a valuable, tightly related bonus. This small act turns a “good deal” into a “no brainer.”

4. Offer a Guarantee

Your prospects are worried that your product won’t work for them. So put their worries to bed by offering a risk-reversal – that is, a satisfaction guarantee. Unconditional, strong and long guarantees usually deliver the best conversion rates to you.

5. Create a Sense of Urgency

You need to have a call to action at the end of your letter that tells your prospects exactly what to do next (e.g., “get out your credit card and click here to get started now…”). But you also need to give your prospects a good reason to act NOW, otherwise they may leave the page and not come back.

The solution? Create a sense of urgency by:

  • Reminding the prospect that his pain and his problems will be over when he buys the product.
  • Offering a limited-time discount or bonus offer.
  • Offering a limited quantity of products.
  • Offering a bonus or discount to the first few hundred people who order.

6. Close the Sale Via Multiple Contacts

The vast majority of your prospects won’t buy the first time they see your sales page, especially if they don’t know who you are (or they weren’t referred by a trusted third party). As such, you can increase your conversion rate by getting your sales letter visitors into an autoresponder series of at least seven messages. This series should build trust by offering a good content, while including promotions to close the sale.

7. Test and Track Your Results

Finally, testing and tracking your sales letter, price, and ad campaigns puts more money in your pocket. It helps you figure out what part of the process gets more people to buy your product. That way, you can focus on those parts of the process that give you the highest profits.

You just discovered seven surefire ways to get people to buy more of your products.

Don’t pick and choose the methods you like best. Instead, incorporate all seven ideas… and enjoy the results!

How To Get Others To Join Your Membership Site

You’ve created a membership site with quality content that your prospects want. You’ve put up a compelling sales page and an order button.

Online Membership, Membership Internet

Now what? How do you convince your prospects to become a member?

Like this:

  1. Specialize and Focus Like a Laser

It seems almost counterintuitive – you’d think that if your site would appeal to as many people as possible, then you’d get more members. But it doesn’t work that way. Instead, you’ll get more members once you focus your site and all marketing materials to focus in like a laser on one niche.

Example: Let’s say your site teaches people how to build a website. You should focus on one niche, such as “web design for ebook marketers” or “web design for private practice doctors.”

Now think about it…

Let’s say an ebook marketer wants to learn how to build a site. Is he going to go to “Joe Blow’s Web Design” membership site… or to the “Web Design for Ebook Marketers Site?” That’s right, he’s going to choose your site because it’s geared for his needs.

  1. Give a Free or Low-Cost Sample

You can get more paying members if you first give people a free or low-cost trial membership (such as $1 for one week).

Doing so gives people a chance to get a look at the inside of your site to see if it’s right for them. And since you collected their credit card info before they joined the site, you can automatically start their paid subscription once the trial is over.

  1. Share the Benefits

As mentioned previously, you’ll need a sales letter to help turn prospects into members. While you’re sharing all the benefits of your membership content in general, don’t forget about the benefits of the membership site itself. For example:

  • Small price. A monthly fee (such as $10 or $20 or even $50 per month) sounds small compared to a one-time fee such as $297. As such, you can get more members by focusing on this small recurring fee. You may even break it down further by reminding your prospects of the daily cost (e.g., “just 75 cents a day – about the price of a candy bar…”).
  • Not overwhelming. If you have a training site and you’re tackling a big topic, then let prospects know that they won’t get overwhelmed since you’re offering a step-by-step course in weekly installments.
  1. Let People “Peek” Inside the Site

Whether you offer free trials or not, you can get more members simply by letting prospects “peek” inside the site. There are multiple ways to do this, including (but not necessarily limited to):

  • Providing partial content, such as the first paragraph of an article with a link or a description of report with a link. When people click on the link, they’re encourage to become a member.
  • Screenshots of the inside of the site, which shows the materials available, the community forum, etc.
  • Video of the inside of the members-only area of the site. Just use a screen recording software like Camtasia Studio and record yourself “touring” the site. Very compelling.

There you have it – four surefire ways to get more members into your paid membership site. Just create good content, put up a good offer, write a good sales page – and then apply these four tips!

How To Get Visitors To Your Blog

If you’ve ever created a blog before, then you know that the saying, “build it and they will come” just isn’t true. However, you can get more people interested in visiting your blog by following these five tips…

Blog, Write, Texts, Blogger, To Blog
  1. Offer good content

By “good” content, I mean you should blog about topics that your audience wants to know about. To find out what they want, just follow these steps:

  • Find out what types of information products they’re already buying – then write blog posts on the same topic.
  • Use a keyword tool (like WordTracker) to find out what topics people in your niche are looking for.
  • Drop by busy niche forums and other blogs to see which topics are generating the most views and discussion.
  • Survey your readers to find out what they want.
  1. Update frequently.

Sometimes people start a blog, post a flurry of articles and then abandon the blog for months at a time. If you allow dated posts, then your visitors aren’t likely to come back again if they notice that you don’t update regularly.

What you need to do is commit to posting to your blog at least once a week. If you don’t want to be chained to your blog like this, then create the content ahead of time and automatically “drip” it to your readers. Or, hire a ghostwriter to both create the content and post it.

Point is, you need to post often to keep your blog from looking like a deserted island.

Create regular features.

Here’s a great way to turn a one-time visitor into a repeat visitor. Specifically, by creating “regular features” and multi-part blog posts that your visitors can look forward to.

Example: Maybe you create a seven-part article about how to make money with pay per click marketing. And maybe you space it out so that you’re posting one or two articles per week. You can bet that your readers will return at least once a week just to finish reading the series.

Another way to get more visitors is by creating a regular feature, such as a “tip of the week” feature or even a “questions from our readers” feature.

  1. Write about hot topics.

One way to get a surge of traffic and increase in your blog is by writing about hot or even controversial topics. You can include relevant keywords and “ping” the blog directories (like technorati.com) to make sure that those who are searching for the hot topic see your post.

Another way to leverage a hot topic is by joining in on the blogosphere conversation. Simply find a popular blog discussing a hot topic, and use a trackback to add your response.

  1. Get someone influential to endorse your blog.

Finally, you can get others to visit your blog by first getting someone influential in your niche to endorse you (and your blog). You can do this indirectly, such as by offering to be a guest author on the other person’s blog. Or you can ask your joint venture partners to directly endorse you on their blogs and in their newsletters (and you’ll return the favor).

It’s free advertising. But it’s also extremely powerful, because you’re using social proof to increase your readership.

You just discovered five proven ways to get others to visit your blog – and to visit it again! Your next step is to take action.

Starting today, apply these tips… and then keep an eye on your traffic logs!

How to Sell More Offline Services, Coaching Services, etc.

This works for any big ticket item you are selling one-on-one. For example, maybe you sell SEO services to brick and mortar businesses. Or perhaps you sell coaching over the phone to people who got a free 20 minute session with you.

How to Sell More Offline Services, Coaching Services, etc.

This works in print as well, but it works even better when you’re actually talking to the person.

Let’s say you sell list building systems to local businesses. You’ve sat down with them, explained exactly what you can do for them and they’re excited. “How much do you charge?” they want to know.

Let’s say you charge $1,000 a month for the service. Tell them you normally charge $2,000, and explain why your service is a tremendous deal at that price. Then tell them that if they will allow you to use them as a case study, you will knock that price in half.

Here’s the beauty of this system:

First, you’ve already primed them for a higher price, so when you offer the lower price, they’re actually relieved and much more likely to say yes.

Second, in the back of their mind they’re thinking, “If s/he is using my business as a case study, that means s/he’s going to work extra hard to get good results.” Which makes perfect sense, because you wouldn’t want a case study that failed.

Third, you can use these case studies to bring in new clients. For example, let’s say you performed a service for a plumber. Now you can contact plumbers in other cities and show them the exact results you achieved in that first plumbing business.

When they see these specific results, they are much more likely to sign on.

The same goes for any other service you provide to local businesses, professionals, coaching clients, etc.

Show them your ‘regular’ price, then offer the option of getting a reduced price in exchange for allowing you to use them as a case study.

One caveat: In the case of personal coaching (versus business coaching) you might want to change their name in your case study to protect your client’s privacy.

Apply these simple tips to selling your marketing and coaching services, and you’ll find it much easier to land new clients.

Why You Need A Mentor

Years ago, I decided I wanted to play the guitar. Keen and eager, I rushed out and bought a guitar, amplifier, effects pedals and a few books. I got it all home, plugged it all in and then made a noise that sounded like a herd of cats all caterwauling out of tune.

Board, Mentor, Hand, To Learn, Training

After some days and weeks of struggling and irritating my family I decided that I needed to learn properly. The best way to learn properly is to get someone who is already an expert to teach you.

So I went out, found someone who was an expert guitarist in the style I wanted to learn and studied with them. I also watched my favourite guitarists playing; watching exactly how they played and moved their hands. I, of course, copied them (though I now realise its called modelling!).

With an expert teaching me, I soon became much better at the guitar and was no longer banished from the house when I wanted to play.

I could probably have taught myself guitar from books and from fiddling with the guitar, but it would have taken me a lot longer than it otherwise did. Through using a mentor, I sped up the learning process and avoided a lot of the pitfalls, bad habits and mistakes many self taught guitarists pick up along the way.

Later on in life, I worked as a consultant for a large computer corporation. Again, I was learning the ropes and was given a mentor; an expert who already knew the system and the company. My mentor advised and guided me through my career as a consultant. He saved me a lot of trouble and made me aware of all the loopholes in the companies processes and procedures, which helped me get more pay rises and a better company car!

Whatever area of your life you want to develop in, it is important that you have a mentor. Whether this is in your career, your personal life, your business or your hobbies. A mentor can speed up the learning process and help you to become the expert and success you want to be.

So how do you find a mentor?

Well, you may know someone who is already an expert and could approach them and ask them. You could join forums on the Internet and find experts there (though check their credentials first). Search for websites of people in the area you want to learn from. You may find they have books to help you or even provide a one to one coaching service. You can also read biographies and auto-biographies of people you want to learn from and model them.

Sometimes you may have to pay a mentor, whether with money or through providing them some service or help. Other times people will be happy to mentor you for free just to help you out. When you become an expert you too may want to give something back and mentor other people.

If you are looking for a business mentor, then often local chambers of commerce provide mentors free of charge. Professional bodies will often be able to put you in touch with a mentor too.

A mentor will save you a lot of time and effort in the long run, and it is well worth your time and effort to find one to shorten your learning curve. Whatever area of your life you are working on, business, personal or pleasure, find yourself a mentor to help propel you forwards to the level of success you desire.

You Have a Gift, Release It

Every person on this earth has a special gift. The gifts may not all be equal but they are all special. What is your gift?

Gift, Box, Gift Box, Birthday, Surprise

It may be singing, acting or craftsmanship. Or you may have an eye for detail, allowing you to turn an ordinary space into a wonderful haven, where people would want to spend their time.

It’s never too late to make a change and find a path that will allow you to be true to yourself. You just need to recognize your gift and take it out from where it is hidden.

The time has come for you to let your light shine and to do what you truly enjoy. Do it for yourself and for nobody else. But when you do, your light might just lighten up somebody else’s way.

Before I started my business I thought I had no special talent and that I therefore had nothing worthwhile to offer. I know that many of you are at that place right now. I want to encourage and tell you that you have got something. What it is I don’t know, only you do. But I know this, it is something special.

Not sharing it with the world will be doing a great disservice to yourself and to the entire world. Nothing is appreciated until it is released for all to see, hear and treasure.

Imagine a world without a Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, Bill Gates or a Picasso. It’s almost like imagining a world without music or computers as we know them. By sharing their talent with us, these individuals have certainly made our world a better place.

There are others you can think of, who have appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and have redefined our worlds. They have changed the way we eat drink and relax, even the way we do business. But before they took that step to show us what they had, nobody had even an inkling as to what was coming.

What about you. Who knows how you could change our world. You could be the next big thing, but even if you don’t change the world like Bill Gates, you could still change your world, in a million ways. And ultimately that’s the most important part. Changing your world.

If you don’t do something about it you’ll never know, what you’re capable of. You’ll never know how it could have been. By taking that first step you’re making a declaration of your independence.

What caused me to take that first step? I was sick and tired of living for weekends. I was tired of working for a living, of always not having enough money. I got tired of getting up in the morning and going to work even if I didn’t feel it. I was tired of being told what to do and how to do it. I wanted my freedom and independence.

I realized that there are so may people all over the world who need someone to tell them that they can achieve their dreams, just as I needed someone to tell me that.

I knew that when I made it I would inspire so many others who thought they couldn’t make it. When you make your dreams come true it may be only for yourself, but there are hundreds and maybe thousands who’ll be inspired. Especially in your own community.

They’ll say if so and so could do it, I can do it too. People are not as much influenced by people from afar as they are by those close to them. Your success becomes their success.

So go out there and follow your dreams. Don’t be afraid to become the first in your community. Take it little by little, day by day, step by step. As you accomplish the one step the next step will come into view, and will be that much more manageable.

5 Keys to Success

Treating people with respect wins trust and develops lasting relationships. Here’s what to do.

People, Business, Meeting

1) Be on time. In fact, arrive early for appointments and meetings. Plan time milestones in your daily schedule that tell you when to begin transferring to an appointment. That is, note when you will stop working on a task, begin collecting resource materials, and start traveling. Allow time for delays in travel, especially if driving. Consider: The fastest way to destroy peoples trust in you is to waste their time.

2) Communicate with others. Answer your phone and return phone calls. Listen carefully and completely when people talk to you. Show an interest in others before telling about yourself. When making phone calls devote all of your attention to what the other person is saying (instead of time sharing with other tasks, such as checking e-mail or playing computer games). Phone others only when you can devote full attention to what the other person is saying. Consider: ignoring people is rude and unprofessional.

3) Plan projects. For example, always prepare an agenda for meetings. Contact key participants before the meeting to hear their views, solicit suggestions for agenda items, and coach them on how to prepare for the meeting. Send agendas far enough before the meeting so that people have time to prepare. Consider: Bad meetings demonstrate an inability to provide leadership.

4) Be courteous. Find the good in everyone. Compliment others. Avoid starting or listening to gossip. Never ridicule, insult, or make fun of other people. Use positive words, always speaking about what you want and how you want things to be. Avoid suggesting motives or assigning judgments for other peoples actions and views. Consider: Discourtesy damages all relationships.

5) Help others. Be a mentor for newcomers. Share ideas. Teach people skills that will help them excel. Work with a spirit of abundance. Seek win/win results. Let others speak first, even on issues where you are an expert. Give first without attaching a receipt for return favors. Consider: Selfish people end up working harder.

Achieve Your Goals For Success Step By Step

You have a dream! Now, how do you make it happen?

Executive, Businesswoman, International

First, imagine that it is real. See every detail so clearly that you can reach out and touch it. You can feel the emotions of being there. For example, if you want a certain car, then what kind is it? What color is it? Imagine you are sitting in it like you will when it is brand new. How does it feel? How does it smell? Go for a drive in your car. If it’s a convertible, drive with the top down! Experience the wind blowing in your face and through your hair. Hear the sounds around you. If you can take a real test drive in one, do that! Get a picture and post it where you will see it each day. Do this visualization several times a day until it becomes part of you. This action is important because your subconscious will help enable you to reach your goals to achieve your dream.

Next, break the big dream down into specific, measurable goals to get you there. If you are dreaming of something that costs a certain amount of money, like the car, you will set a date on when you want to have this money.

Once you have your date, then break your timeline down into segments. Perhaps you set the date one year from today. So the next step is to break that down into a goal for each month, then a goal for each week, then a goal for each day. It may be easier to start with the days, and then multiply out to the weeks and months.

Now that you know what your specific timeline is, you need to determine the specific actions you can take to reach each specific goal. If it is a money goal, like in the example above, you know how much money you need to put away each day. So now you need to figure out what actions you need to take each day in order to be able to do that.

If your goal is accomplishing a project, your timeline will be broken down into different steps you need to finish in order to get the whole project done. For example, if you are writing a book, you may need to do some research before you can write it. So the first major accomplishment on your way to that goal is to complete the research. Then you need to set a time to complete your basic outline. Then a time to complete each chapter. Then a time for editing. You can break each major step down into little steps that must be done each day in order to complete the entire book by your target date.

Now that you see what you will need to do each day in order to achieve your big goal, ask yourself if each day’s task is reasonable. Be truthful. If you know you can do what is required each day, then you have your plan. If it will be very difficult to meet each day’s requirement, then extend your timeline until you have something you know you can do every day. This way, you are setting yourself up for sure success!

It’s just like the ancient philosopher said: “A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” No matter how big your dream is, if you break it down into baby steps that you can do each day, you will find your journey to success filled with the joy of achieving many goals.

Reaching your smaller goals will, indeed, assure you that you are on your way to reaching your dream! You will gain the confidence you need to continue and receive the desire you need to do whatever actions are required each day!

Celebrate achieving even the little goals, and enjoy your journey to your certain success!

A Key To Success

Emulating successful people is one key to success. Be careful, though, if you ask them for advice. Often, people don’t really know why they succeed, but they will give you as many explanations as you want anyhow. One night on the news, I saw a 100-year-old man explain that smoking a big cigar every day was one of the secrets of his longevity. It might be nice to know why he has lived so long, but I’m pretty sure we won’t learn by asking him.

Female, Businesswoman, Woman Power

Key To Success – Study Successful People

One key, then, isn’t in doing what successful people say, but rather doing what they do. This is how to learn success. Naturally you have to look closely and apply a little brainpower to see what they are really doing that is causing their success.

A successful real estate investor told me he didn’t believe in setting goals. However, watching him and listening to him, I came to realize that he knew just where he expected to be with his projects in six months. This, of course, is goal-setting – he just called the process something else.

Never stop listening to what successful people have to say, but read between the lines. Listen for insight into how they think about things, how they approach their challenges. Suppose the advice of a successful basketball player is just to practice more, but he casually mentions “I saw that going in,” after a great shot. Isn’t it time to start visualizing your shots going in?

Key To Success – Model Successful People

You won’t always know what is causing a person’s success. Internet marketers promote their websites by exchanging links, but when I first tried to exchange links with other websites, the owners didn’t respond to my emails. Then I found a simple email letter used by a successful internet marketer to get links. It sounded silly to me, and I wanted to change it, but I tried it anyhow. It worked repeatedly.

It is more important to do the right things than to understand why they are right. To also understand is great, but at first, it may be best to just copy many of the actions, attitudes and approaches of someone who is succeeding. Try to model success, even before you understand it.

As you learn more, you can drop those parts that aren’t contributing, and add elements of your own. If you model a successful parent, for example, and life with your children gets better, does it matter if you know right away which changes were the most effective? Of course not.

Is it better to understand why what you are doing is working? Certainly, but you may not ever understand why some things work, and this is okay too. It is better to have success than to explain it, so find successful people and do what they do, not what they say. It is an important key to success.

Stop, Relax and Prosper The Forgotten Formula for Business

Everyone is looking for: the new angle, the undeveloped niche, the vein of gold just waiting to be mined. Anything seems possible if we just work harder, better, faster than the next marketer waiting to capitalize on an opening.

Woman, Pool, Swimming, Swimming Pool

You know you can do it but you feel you need that extra effort, greater insight, that flash of inspiration to just show you how. What if you could just do a little more, a little faster, a little better ….

This is the mindset we have been programmed to accept. One of more effort = greater reward. We believe that with constant effort and determination, we will naturally attain our goals.

But this is only half the truth and, on its own, is a recipe for ultimate failure. Sounds harsh? Well it should! That’s how we’ve been taught to react.

We strive forward, working ever harder, searching ever deeper and pushing ourselves, both physically and mentally, to an ever-increasing extent. We stay that little longer at the PC, do that little bit more research, read that extra report, filling ourselves with information, searching for new ideas.

The result of all this unrealized pressure is STRESS.

Now, I hear you shouting at the screen, I’m not stressed! I can work hours without getting uptight and still perform. Who does this guy think he is?

Please allow me a moment to explain what I mean.

It is very true that we all need a certain amount of stress in order to become motivated and grow; so what is the problem? We all have internal stress coping-mechanisms that were originally developed to cope with potentially life-threatening situations, the so called fight or flight response.

However, these biochemical changes are all too frequently brought into play by other factors nowadays, from meeting deadlines or receiving bills to worrying about the solution to a new project. When this occurs and the body is placed in an almost constant state of alert, the adrenal glands become depleted and we become tense, tired, irritable, even depressed and especially unfocused and so less productive.

Almost all of our bodily functions can be affected. This includes: digestive disorders, weakened immune system and a whole host of other physical problems.

We thought we were just working harder but in reality, when we reach this point and are not releasing this tension, we are achieving less – and that’s never a good state of play.

By allowing yourself the time, and I’m talking about just a few minutes here, to stop, breathe deeply and relax effectively, you can soon reap the rewards. You become more focused, more inspired, more effective and more motivated.

Time is a commodity that is in short supply, use it effectively. Make a powerful investment today – stop, relax and prosper.
